Dr. Ian Welsford, a long-time industry insider who has seen the emergence of the smart insulin patch pump industry, has joined EOFLOW as the new Chief Compliance Officer. Dr. Welsford brings to EOFlow over 25 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs working primarily in the medical device industry with an emphasis on electromechanical systems including insulin pumps (external and implantable), closed loop blood glucose control (a.k.a. artificial pancreas) systems, in vitro diagnostic systems (including blood glucose meters and continuous blood glucose monitoring systems) and implantable neuromodulation systems for a variety of indications. He has served on FDA advisory committees including those dealing with Infusion Pump Safety, Human Factors Engineering, and Software Validation and has spoken most recently at national and international conferences on Drug Compatibility Testing, Software Validation for 510(k) Devices and Software Compliance within an IOT World. Dr. Welsford received his Ph.D. in Biology (Neuroscience) and has completed postdoctoral training in Protein Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology.
